I've been wanting to read the Jeeve's books since hearing a shower about P.G.Wodehouse on Radio 4 and stumbled across this 12 entry in the witty butler detective(ish) series where a silver cow creamer has been half inched at Aunt Dahlia's residence in Worcestershire, and Bertie feels he needs trust Jeeve's at his side to get to the bottom of things, calling him from his holiday no less to help aide in the deception, strange romances and thievery that seems to be happening all over the shop at his Aunt's very 'National Trust'-esque estate.
The story is bizarre, but I really like it. It has a typically British Christie vibe, but with a story not nearly as serious, instead revolving around idle gossip and scheming aristocrats. Wodehouse' voice for Bertie is fabulous. He's somehow equally smart and dopey, and his idle comments and humor had me laughing out loud once I'd gotten used to the language a little. It was a quick, fun and easy read and I'll definitely go back for some more.
