My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Though on my non fiction shelf on goodreads, Keavney readily admits to his Toast The Nation radio show's contributors tendency to glorify, modify and completely falsify facts about the different towns in the UK. This book is a collection of those submissions, complete with preceeding song requests (sometimes but not always relating to the following entry).
The facts can be astounding, funny, bizarre and entertaining even if they are made up (though often widely believed).
Keaveny breaks up these entries with short comical essays about things he remembers about certain facts or locales or his opinions on his toasters contributions.
Nothing hilarious but a nice collection. Worth a read for fans of the show or as an easy holiday/lunchtime book.
